Choosing the Right Vessel Finish for Your Environment
Selecting the appropriate coating is essential for the lifespan of your pressure vessel and the quality of your compressed air. At Apex Air Malaysia, we offer three specialized finishes tailored to different industrial demands:
Painted Air Receivers (Standard Protection)
Best for: Indoor manufacturing plants and dry environments. Our painted vessels are the industry standard for most applications where the air receiver is not exposed to extreme weather. The high-quality external paint job ensures reliable protection against atmospheric corrosion, making it a cost-effective solution for standard factory setups.
Galvanized (Zinc) Air Receivers (Maximum Durability)
Best for: High-humidity regions, coastal areas, or outdoor installations. Galvanization is the ultimate defense against rust. Through a process where the vessel is completely submerged in a liquid zinc bath, we ensure the coating adheres perfectly to both the internal and external surfaces of the tank.
The Benefit: Full protection of the steel, even in Malaysia’s tropical climate, significantly extending the tank’s service life.
Vitrified (Vitroflex) Air Receivers (Hygienic & Premium)
Best for: Food & Beverage, Pharmaceuticals, and Clean-room applications. These vessels undergo a specialized vitreous enamel treatment, making them completely resistant to water and steam.
The Process: After being baked at 850°C, the enamel creates an inorganic link with the metal surface.
The Result: A surface that no longer absorbs water and provides 100% protection against corrosion. It is the ideal choice when “perfectly clean air” is an absolute prerequisite for your production line.
How to Size Your Air Receiver Tank?
- Formula 1: 1/4 x Free Air Delivery (m³/min).
- Formula 2: Motor Power (HP) x 30 = Liters.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
An air receiver tank stabilizes air pressure, stores compressed air, and reduces compressor cycling, helping the system run more efficiently and reliably.
Sizing depends on compressor capacity, air demand patterns, and peak usage periods. Most users choose a tank with storage volume 6 to 10 times the compressor’s flow rate.
A vertical tank saves floor space and fits well in tight production areas while still providing sufficient air storage and stable pressure control.
Routine tasks include draining condensate, checking safety valves, inspecting internal corrosion, and ensuring the tank meets local safety standards.
It reduces sudden pressure fluctuations, lowers energy consumption, supports consistent airflow during peak demand, and extends compressor lifespan.
